WWE SmackDown Results: Winners, Grades, Highlights and Analysis from April 30

Whereas WWE Raw failed to create adequate buzz and excitement about the upcoming Money in the Bank pay-per-view event, the April-ending episode of SmackDown Live featured a focused show that steadily built the feuds and Superstars that will culminate in the highest of profile bouts at the May 19 show.

SmackDown kicked off with Michael Cole introducing WWE champion Kofi Kingston to the fans. Commentator Tom Phillips ran down the incredible journey of Kingston to the top of the brand.’

Kingston said without New Day, none of this is possible. He continued his inspirational message before Cole relieved Kingston’s victory over Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania as chants of “you deserve it!” rained from the stands.’

The IIconics On Possibly Wrestling For WWE In Saudi Arabia

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The IIconics, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, recently spoke with Express UK and said they aren’t worried about missing WWE’s Super Showdown event in Saudi Arabia next month because they believe women will be allowed to wrestle in the Kingdom one day.

IIconics Dismiss Sasha Banks Rumors, 4

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) women’s tag team champions The IIconics and 4-time RAW women’s champion Sasha Banks have together put to rest most of the rumors surrounding the latter’s absence from WWE since WrestleMania 35 in April.

Banks has not been seen in any WWE event since WrestleMania, when she and tag team partner Bayley dropped the tag team titles to The IIconics ‘ Billy Kay and Peyton Royce ‘ and many speculated that the former RAW champion and Bayley threw a massive tantrum when they were informed of the planned title change.

The Boss ‘n’ Hug connection were the inaugural women’s tag team champion and were expected to be given an extended run across all the WWE brands but after a relatively short reign, they dropped the titles and supposedly it did not sit well with the duo, who threw a strop in the locker room and hotel prior to the event.
