Norway nominates its space agency chief as ESA Director General candidate

Paris, 5 October 2020. ‘ The Norwegian Government proposed Christian Hauglie-Hanssen, the Director General of the Norwegian Space Agency, as candidate for the European Space Agency’s (ESA) top job as ESA Director General, the Norwegian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries announced.

‘Mr. Hauglie-Hanssen’s combined background from space and other industries, as well as public service together with proven achievements in international space cooperation over many years, makes him a very well suited candidate,’ Iselin Nyb’, the Norwegian minister of trade and industries said in the ministry’s announcement last week.
