NASA and JAXA Formalize Partnership for Artemis Program
NASA and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) have formalized their partnership for the Artemis program, a historic collaboration that aims to return humans to the lunar surface by 2025. The partnership will focus on the development of the Gateway, a lunar-orbiting space station that will serve as a base for scientific research, exploration, and development of the Moon's resources. Under the agreement, JAXA will provide components for the Gateway, including a habitation module and a logistics module, while NASA will provide the overall system design and integration. This partnership marks a significant milestone in the Artemis program, which seeks to establish a sustainable human presence on the lunar surface and eventually send humans to Mars.
