Former U.S. president Barack Obama doesn’t claim to know the origins of the unidentified flying objects that have been spotted by American military personnel ‘ but if they are from another planet, he’d like to think that knowledge would unite humanity, rather than tear us apart.

Obama opened up about the long-shot possibility that UFOs could lead to proof of aliens this week, in a new podcast interview with New York Times opinion columnist Ezra Klein.

And here’s another article:

If UFOs are aliens, Obama hopes humanity would find ‘common’ ground

It was the former president’s second time speaking about UFOs in recent weeks, ahead of a highly anticipated intelligence report to Congress on so-called Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAP) later this month.

In the latest interview, Obama was asked about a hypothetical situation in which the UFOs are proven to be remote drones sent by aliens. In that purely “what if” scenario, humans would only know that aliens exist, but would not be able to contact them.

Obama said such a revelation would not change his approach to politics, “because my entire politics is premised on the fact that we are these tiny organisms on this little speck floating out in space.”

The aliens haven’t landed: Why you should be skeptical of recent reports on UFO sightings

I’ve been following the story for the past four years, and I’ll try to make sense of it. First, some context.

Many in the UFO community believe the government is holding back progress toward this dream by not sharing everything they know about UFOs. So, they attempt to lobby the government to fess up ‘ something they refer to as “disclosure.”

For many UFO fans this was a high point in a recent wave of what they see as confirmation that “disclosure” is just around the corner.

After that, the Pentagon basically clammed up, replying to inquiries with boilerplate responses stating they would not say anything.

UFOs and Jews Living on a Different Planet

Even former President Barak Obama said in an interview this week, “What is true, and I’m actually being serious here, is that there are, there’s footage and records of objects in the skies, that we don’t know exactly what they are. We can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory. They did not have an easily explainable pattern. And so, you know, I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is.”

The Science of Conspiracy Theories and Political Polarization with Eric Oliver (Ep. 25)

A UChicago political science professor explains how the same force that drives conspiracy theories is intensifying political polarization in our country.’

The ‘birthers,’Pizzagate,’anti-vaxxers. Since the election of Donald Trump, it’s seemed that belief in conspiracy theories is on the rise. At the same time, our polarization is worse than ever. People can hardly even maintain a conversation across political or cultural lines. Could the underlying force driving conspiracy theories also be the same one that’s dividing our country?

University of Chicago Political’Science Professor Eric Oliver, who’s been studying conspiracy theories for over a decade, says his research shows how one basic tension explains both belief in conspiracy theories and our political divide. Deeper than red or blue, liberal or conservative, we’re actually divided by intuitionists and rationalists.

As I recall, I did finally master doing a cartwheel as a kid. I know for a fact, I could somersault ‘ and still can, for that matter. That’s not much to crow about, I know. But it’s all the more reason I’m curious what makes superstar gymnast Simone Biles tick.

Last weekend, she became the first female athlete to land a Yurchenko double pike in vault during a competition.

What’s behind the kind of drive that leads her to execute moves so extraordinary that, so far, four are named after her? According to her coaches, Cecile and Laurent Landi, being motivated from within is key to her success.’
