NASA SLS megarocket shortage causes tug-of

NASA is choosing between human missions to the moon and a robotic mission to Jupiter’s icy moon Europa as the agency manages its limited supply of megarockets in the coming years.

The agency began developing its Space Launch System (SLS) in 2010, intending for the rocket to be the agency’s primary vehicle for crewed and deep-space missions. But work has been slow, and NASA and Boeing, which builds the vehicles’ two main stages, are only now testing the core stage of the first SLS. It won’t fly until late next year, when it makes the first flight of NASA’s Artemis lunar-exploration program ‘ an uncrewed trip around the moon known as Artemis 1. The schedule will therefore be tight for the third Artemis launch, which aims to land two astronauts near the moon’s south pole in 2024.

Broncos’ Tim Patrick, Raiders’ Isaiah Johnson ejected for throwing punches

During a larger melee, it appeared that Patrick first struck Raiders safety Johnathan Abram. Although Abram didn’t retaliate, Johnson fought back by punching Patrick. Several players then intervened to prevent the fight from getting worse.

All the players involved had their helmets on during the fight, which studies have shown to be painful for fist-throwing hands.

It’s possible, if not likely, that Patrick and Johnson will face punishment from the NFL for the incident.

On a lighter note, referee Tony Corrente said ‘Oakland’ instead of ‘Las Vegas’ when announcing the penalties. Perhaps the Raiders’ reputation from the good old days has traveled with them to their new digs.

Vice President-elect Kamala Harris was greeted on the Senate floor Tuesday with fist-bumps and congratulations by some of the same Republicans who have publicly denied she and President-elect Joe Biden have won the election. Reporters on Capitol Hill, along with C-SPAN’s cameras, captured Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican and top ally to President Donald Trump, giving Harris, a senator from California, a fist-bump. Additionally, Sens. Tim Scott, Mike Rounds, James Lankford and Ben Sasse all wished her congratulations, CNN reported.’The election was called 10 days ago by the major news networks for Biden and Harris, yet Trump has refused to concede. He’s stayed out of sight publicly, appearing briefly in the White House Rose Garden Friday, and driving to his Virginia golf club Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, Trump continued to contend that he ‘won’ the election. Meanwhile, his GOP allies on Capitol Hill have given the president cover to challenge the election though legal means, cases he continues to lose.
